Week 10/01/23-10/07/23
This past week has been a bit of a change. We had our first week of domestic ministry in Mayfield, Kentucky. The men of both squads partnered with Samaritan’s Purse to help with tornado damage from an extremely bad storm. A large portion of Mayfield was damaged or destroyed from a tornado that went through about two years ago and rebuild is finally becoming possible. We went in to help rebuild communities and share the love of Jesus through our actions. The story of this week doesn’t take place working on one of the work sites but on the hour drive to a house that was getting close to being done. At the beginning of the week they split us up into teams that were not the same as our usual teams. We were also given a leader for the week that would direct us on what the plan was for the day. On the third and fourth day we had the privilege of working on a house that getting close to being done, but we had to drive about an hour to get there. On our way down on the both days the hour drive started with some deep conversations, which ended up leading to deeper conversations. Most of these conversations led back to Jesus. One of these conversations got especially deep. One of the guys opened up and started talking about some of his story. He had gone through a lot during his time growing up and was having a hard time seeing himself how God sees him. We then started speaking life to him and speaking against the lies of the enemy. That car ride allowed for us to create a stronger bond together as brothers.
Thank y’all for reading. Also I’m sorry about it being a little late, the past week has been extremely busy. I hope y’all enjoyed.
